Harley

Harley started having discharge from his nostrils about a month or so ago and thinking it was just allergies or a cold I let it go for a few weeks before making a doctors appointment. After seeing the vet for the first time, she put him on an antibiotic which didn't seem to help Harley's problem at all. He then had a second visit where the vet did a nasal flush and swabbed the back of his throat to see if he had bacteria growing and what kind it was. The hope was that this would tell her what type of antibiotics to put Harley on to keep him from sneezing and stop the discharge. We waited a week for the test results which showed he had a staff infection and some other type of bacteria. We now had a list of antibiotics that would be useful to help his situation so the doctor mixed one up and he was on it for a week, which was supposed to be two. He HATED the taste of it which made it almost impossible to get him to take it even mixing it into his favorite food, peanut butter. Since it was almost impossible to get him to take the medication, another was prescribed which the vet had you guys mix up... Your call asking what flavor to mix was a huge help and very appreciated. The peanut butter flavor made it easy to put the medication on a small piece of bread and he ate it all. Unfortunately this medication didn't work either. Harley was just in to see the doctor again where they did a nasal flush with sterile saline solution and he has to go back in one week for another with hopes that the flushes they are doing will work. If not he will have to go to NC to see a specialist and have much more invasive procedures done. I would like to thank you and Pure Compounding for having a medication that Harley didn't mind taking and for showing that you care. Wish him the best over the next couple of weeks.

Foxy Lady

The photo above is of Foxy Lady. We adopted Foxy in 1999 after she had been abandoned by her previous owners. She was constantly sick and eventually diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis by the NC State vet school. They told us she might live another year and that was 8 years ago. She was recently diagnosed with Cushing's Disease by our vet. Now we get to visit with you once a month to get her specially formulated chicken flavored medicine. We add a little peanut butter to make sure she takes it. She is doing to great thanks to you guys and our vet. Thanks for your help.
